About the Pantone birth chart

An aesthetic reading of your astrological placements, translated into a Pantone-referenced color palette.

A Pantone birth chart maps your Sun, Moon, Rising, and optionally Venus signs to a curated palette of Pantone-referenced colors. Sun sign is your outward identity, Moon sign is your emotional register, Rising sign is your first impression, Venus sign is your aesthetic and love language. Four placements, four colors.

The Big 3 plus Venus is a trend that spread on social media as a way to share identity as a color palette. This tool adds two things the trend usually does not have: a real astronomical calculator that finds your placements from birth data, and Pantone references for each color.

The specific sign-to-color mappings are our own curation, drawn from popular astrology color traditions. Fire signs tend toward vivid warm tones, water signs toward soft or deep cool tones, earth signs toward grounded neutrals, air signs toward light pastels. Within each sign, the four placements differ: Sun is the primary color, Moon is a softened or deepened variant, Rising is a brighter first-impression variant, Venus is the aesthetic variant.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Pantone birth chart?

A Pantone birth chart maps your Sun, Moon, Rising, and optionally Venus signs to specific Pantone-referenced colors, then displays them as a swatch palette. The idea is aesthetic, not scientific. This tool uses a curated interpretation of each sign-to-color mapping.

How does the calculator work?

Enter your birth date, exact time, and city. The page calculates your Sun, Moon, Rising and Venus signs entirely in your browser using the astronomy-engine ephemeris library. No data leaves your device. City search uses Open-Meteo, a free geocoding service, to resolve the name to coordinates.

How is each color chosen?

Each of the 48 placements (12 signs, 4 placement types) has a curated Pantone-referenced color. Fire signs tend toward vivid warm tones, water signs toward soft cool tones, earth signs toward grounded neutrals, air signs toward light pastels. Within each sign the four placements vary: Sun is the primary color, Moon is a softened or deepened variant, Rising is a brighter first-impression variant, Venus is the aesthetic variant.

Do you save my birth information?

No. Your birth date, time, and location stay in your browser tab. Share URLs encode only your four signs and mood choice, never the birth data itself. Closing the tab clears everything.

Where do I find my Sun, Moon, Rising, and Venus signs?

Your Sun sign is determined by your birth date. Moon, Rising, and Venus signs require exact birth time and location. Free natal chart generators at Astro.com, Astro-Seek.com, or Co-Star will list them. Then pick each from the dropdowns.

Can I download my Pantone birth chart as an image?

Yes. After selecting your placements, click Download PNG. The tool renders a square 1200 by 1200 image card with your four colors, sign symbols, and HEX values, entirely in your browser via the Canvas API. No upload, no server.

What if I do not know my Venus sign?

Venus is optional. Sun, Moon, and Rising alone make a complete chart. If you skip Venus, the chart shows three colors. Add it and the chart expands to four swatches.

What is the difference between Soft, Vivid, and Nocturne?

Three mood variants of the same palette. Vivid uses the base colors from the zodiac data. Soft mixes each color 30 percent toward white for a lighter feel. Nocturne mixes 40 percent toward near-black for a deeper, moodier version. Signs stay the same, only the color rendering changes.

Is this the same as the Big 3 plus Venus trend?

Yes. The Big 3 (Sun, Moon, Rising) plus Venus is the four-placement palette trend that spread on TikTok and Twitter. This tool maps each placement to a Pantone-referenced color and adds the calculator and mood variants.

How accurate are the calculations?

Sun, Moon, and Venus positions use astronomy-engine, an open-source ephemeris library based on NASA-grade astronomical models. They match published charts to within minutes of arc. Rising sign depends on exact birth time, which changes roughly every two hours, so if birth time is uncertain the Rising result is an approximation.

Are these official Pantone zodiac colors?

No. This page is an independent interpretation, not affiliated with or endorsed by Pantone LLC. The 48 sign-and-placement combinations each map to a curated Pantone-referenced approximation. Pantone is a registered trademark of Pantone LLC.

Can I use the colors in Canva or a moodboard?

Yes. Copy the HEX of any swatch into Canva, a design tool, or a moodboard. The closest Pantone reference is listed below each HEX for print or product work. Verify against physical Pantone chips before production.
